Recipe TIM - Systematic
Control for the Tannery |
 |
 |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
Recipes TIM: is Windows-based software developed using
cutting-edge technology plus in-depth knowledge of Technical Development
and Production management in the Tannery. Recipe Management is the
first step towards the Modernized Tannery.
Proprietors, Administration, Production and Technical Management and
Staff now have a tool, which facilitates cost management, quality
control, process supervision of the process, and monitoring of the
chemical stocks. It is the foundation for the development of a modern
and competitive plant |

• Build in-house Know-How and support Quality
Assurance by monitoring the process, and recording the detailed results,
observations, conformances and deviations in the actual process. The
goal is Quality Consistency! • Analyze previous history
records, to find the exact recipe which matches the Client’s
demands. Get feedback from earlier results, to stimulate the creative
process, and economic improvements. • The built-in Alarm
Clock feature (due shortly in Recipes TIM v5.10) will prompt the Operator
to: |
|
• prepare the resources, chemicals, Operators
• Start the Process ‘Run’
• End the process/Operation/Step
• Prompts will be given to select equipment groups, at Marquee-displays,
and by audible and flashing signals
|
| • Maintain the chemical inventory, calculate
the process ‘variable’ cost, and compare the specified
cost with cost of the actual production process. |

• First step Towards the Modernized Tannery
• Deliver what the customer ordered. • Dispatch at
the delivery date • Precisely communicates the leather’s
quality and process specification. • Repeat the best results!
“Those who don’t learn from the mistakes of history are
condemned to repeat them!” • Improve the tannery’s
production efficiency. • Improve the technical control,
creativity and innovation. • Promote Quality Control, Quality
Consistency. • Manage information for Quality Assurance
& Profit. • Quality consistency leads to customer satisfaction
and repeat business. • Reduce the manufacturing cycle time;
reduce order to delivery cycle time. • Reduce re-works through
accurate specification of the tannery process. • Reduce
costs through fast retrieval of the archived process histories, and
recipes. • Reduce Costs through precise instructions and
avoidance of waste. • Schedule the Operator work-based to
maximize efficiency. • Export Recipe data in common formats
(.CSV,.xls). • Import data into external software (e.g.
industrial control by SCADA) |

Swystem Logic
GmbH of Switzerland has teamed up with the Chennai software
developers Alpha System Pvt Ltd.,
to put the First Step of Tannery Efficiency and Cost Reduction within
easy reach of the leather industry.
Founded in Switzerland 10-years ago, Swystem
Logic GmbH promotes cost saving, production efficiency and
quality consistency. After extensive experience in Dyes & Chemicals
for Leather, Technical Management in Tanneries, Industrial Automation
and Software, it’s CEO and founder, John Crowther, became
known for project Work for upgrading tanneries and design of new
plants in USA, Southern Africa, Japan, South America, Australia
and Europe. The original Recipes TIM development (in the 1990’s)
answered demands for improved tannery process specification, and
fast reaction to customer needs (see proceedings IULTCS 1997). This
new version takes full advantage of the power of modern Windows
OS and SQL database management to greatly increase the power and
expand the functionality of the original concept.
